An afternoon house fire has left a woman burned and a Courtland Avenue home damaged in the blaze, fire officials said Thursday.
The woman was transported to Midtown Medical Center after the 5:13 p.m. fire in the 2600 block of Courtland Avenue but her injuries were not immediately available, said Fire Marshal Ricky Shores, of the Columbus Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
Shores said the woman sustained multiple burns and smoke inhalation. She may be transferred later to a burn center in the region.
Flames gutted the inside of the brick home after the fire ignited.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. While battling the blaze, police blocked traffic between Carr and Lemongrass streets until about 7 p.m. when it was reopened.
No cause of the fire has been determined but investigators remained on the scene.A kitchen fire Thursday afternoon in the 2600 block of Courtland Avenue has left at least one person injured.
