A male was physically assaulted during a Saturday robbery at the Opelika Golden Cherry Motel located in the 1000 block of Second Avenue, Opelika police said.

The victim had no significant injuries and did not receive medical care following the offense, which police believe occurred at about 10:45 p.m., Opelika police Capt. Shane D. Healey said in a press release.

The attacker took unspecified property from the victim during the alleged third-degree robbery, he said.

There is a known suspect, Healey said, but police did not identify or describe the suspect at the time of the release.
