Multiple cell phones were taken from the AT&T in the 5400 block of Whittlesey Boulevard Monday, Columbus police said.
The suspect allegedly entered the business and stole an unspecified amount of cell phones from the business as an employee with the establishment watched, police said. When the employee confronted the offender, he pulled out pepper spray as he was backing away from the employee, records show.
He then fled the scene on foot with the cell phones in hand, an officer said in a report.
Police responded to the incident Monday at 7:42 p.m.
