A 34-year-old Columbus man is in stable condition at the Midtown Medical Center after getting struck in the face Wednesday night by a stranger at the intersection of 28th Avenue and Alford Street, according to Columbus police.
The offenders used an unspecified object to inflict a laceration near his left eye, police said about the incident that occurred approximately at 9:15 p.m.
No arrests have been made in connection with the case, but based on the victim's descriptions, police suspect that two black men between 16 and 20 years old were responsible.
The first was seen with a white shirt and dark pants, while the second attacker reportedly had on all black clothing, officers said in a report.
Columbus officials responded to the 2600 block of Clover Lane about five minutes following the incident, reports show.
The case remains under investigation.
