No foul play is suspected in the death of an Auburn, Ala., man whose body was found inside a Chevrolet Tahoe Friday on Lee Road 64 with a gunshot wound to the chest, Lee County authorities said. The man was identified as 43-year-old Brenton Lawrence Dean. He was last seen by a family member at his home on Wednesday afternoon.
In a release from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, officials said no foul play is indicated based on the scene circumstances but investigators are still in the early stages of an on-going investigation.
Deputies received a call to the wooded area north of Loachapoka in west Lee County at 12:34 CDT. The caller said there was a possible dead person in the SUV and the person appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Dean was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner Gene Manning.
Friends were concerned about Dean when they went to the area and found him. Dean and others had leased land in the area for hunting.
