Two Columbus men shot during armed robbery on Plateau Drive

Police say two men were shot during an armed robbery outside of their Plateau Drive mobile home early Tuesday morning, according to reports.

Officials said that the victims were transported to the Midtown Medical Center in an ambulance following the 1:35 a.m. incident. The 38-year-old victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the jaw and right shoulder, and the 37-year-old victim was treated for a gunshot wound to left side of his ribs, mid-back, police said in reports.

The older man is in fair condition, while the other survivor is in good condition, according to Columbus police.

Officers are still searching for the suspect who used a pistol to attack the men in a yard located in the 3200 block of Plateau Drive, records indicate.

The suspect allegedly ran off with the 37-year-old victim's $80 and the 38-year-old man's black $80 cell phone, records show.

Officials were called to the scene Tuesday at 1:41 a.m. in reference to the armed robbery.
