What started as a burglary investigation for a Columbus man led to his Friday arrest on drug charges, Columbus police said.
Arandon Knight, 26, faces one count each of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of drug related object and possessing 14 Ecstasy pills. He was arrested about 6 a.m. in the 3000 block of Edgewood Circle and held in the Muscogee County Jail for a Friday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Police were called to the apartment to investigate a burglary when officers were allowed to enter the home. Police found more than 2 ounces of suspected marijuana in a bowl . As they continued their search, police found more marijuana.
Knight also told police that he had a gun. During a further search of the apartment, police found more marijuana, and bags containing 14 suspected Ecstasy pills. Police seized more than 6 ounces of marijuana valued at $1,724 and pills with a street value of $350.
