Police release photos of Speakeasy robber, vehicle

Columbus police seeking the public's help have released security camera images from the March 27 armed robbery of the Speakeasy restaurant on Mercury Drive.

Detectives say a restaurant manager was outside near the 3123 Mercury Drive business' back door about 11:30 p.m. when a man exiting the passenger's side of a white sport-utility vehicle pointed a pistol at him, ordered him back inside and demanded money.

After getting cash, the robber fled in the SUV that another man was driving.

Witnesses described the robber as black, 6-foot to 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and wearing a black knit cap, black jacket and black pants.

Anyone with information on the crime to call Cpl. Jason Brown at 706-225-4438 or call the detective bureau at 706-653-3400.
