April 09, 2015 02:36 PM

A 38-year-old LaGrange man was charged Thursday in connection with the April 3 kidnapping of a woman from a Ware Street home, police said.

Tereke Towns was arrested at the Ware Street home. He also faces charges of aggravated assault and battery in family violence.

Police said officers were first called to investigate a report of domestic abuse on Lafayette Court when they learned the initial incident occurred on Ware Street. A woman said she fled after a man attacked her inside the home. After running outside, the woman said she was chased down and dragged back inside the house.

Police issued warrants for Towns after an investigation. Anyone with additional information should contact the LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603 or the Troup County Crime Stoppers.
