A Columbus police officer accidentally discharged his Taser Friday into the floor at Edgewood School on Forrest Road.
No one was injured in the 10:45 a.m. accident at 3835 Forrest Road.
The officer said he was explaining the use of the X26 Taser while working school security. The Taser accidentally fired after the officer failed to remove the cartridge.
A student was 10-15 feet away when the probes struck the floor.

Police use Tasers as less lethal weapons in place of a firearm. A Taser fires two small dart-like electrodes, which deliver electrical current to disrupt voluntary control of muscles.
