Columbus Police: Woman assaulted by teens

A 53-year-old Columbus woman told police she was assaulted by two teen males Saturday afternoon.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to an apartment in reference to a woman crying loudly.

The woman told police that at 4:37 p.m. she was walking back from the gas station across the street from the Booker T. Washington Apartments at Veterans Parkway when two males, one white and one black, each appearing to be 16-17 years old, came up behind her and grabbed her shirt and neck.

She said it happened in the area of BTW where residents have already moved out.

She told police her screams scared her attackers away.

The black suspect was described as having short hair and wearing a red jersey. The white suspect was described as having tattoos on his face, a lip ring and shaved head.
