Woman cut during shooting near intersection of 25th Street and Fifth Avenue

Columbus police say a 22-year-old woman riding in a vehicle near the intersection of 25th Street and Fifth Avenue when an unknown individual shot the car windshield.

She is in good condition after sustaining a laceration wound in the incident, but she did not receive medical treatment, according to reports.

Police said they are still searching for the individual who shot at the passenger side of the maroon 1993 Geo Prizm, where the Columbus woman was sitting at about 6:50 p.m.

Records show that the cost of property damage to the vehicle is unknown at this time.

There was no mention of the driver being injured in the police report.

Officials continue to investigate the aggravated assault.
