A Phenix City man was arrested in Columbus today and charged in the Monday shooting death of a man outside Richardson Lounge, police said.
Miguel Pierce Caban, 24, was taken into custody without incident at the Colony Inn hotel on Victory Drive at 4:20 p.m. He was taken to the Muscogee County Jail where he awaits extradition on a murder charge in the death of 29-year-old Leon Harmon of Phenix City and attempted murder in the shooting of a 31-year-old man who survived the assault.
Phenix City police were assisted by the Columbus Police Department and U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Task Force and the Middle District of Georgia U.S. Marshals Office.
Harmon was pronounced dead of multiple gunshots at 2:34 a.m. Monday at Midtown Medical Center. The second shooting victim was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released, police said.

Police were called to the Seale Road lounge in Phenix City to check on a shooting when they found Harmon, the second homicide in Phenix City this year.
Police Lt. George Staudinger said Caban's arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation into the shooting incident outside the lounge. He said no other information is available for release.
Three months ago, Robert Allen Earhart Jr. was charged in January in connection with the death of his 3-month-old daughter Alaina Brodka. An autopsy showed Alaina died from blunt-force trauma to the head.
