A homeless man appeared in Recorder's Court Tuesday to face the accusation that he inappropriately exposed himself Monday morning inside of the Chevron gas station at 3475 Victory Drive.
Represented by Columbus public defender Charles Lykins, 26-year-old Jama Zanders pleaded not guilty to one count each of public indecency and loitering in relation to the incident.
Recorder's Court Judge Michael Cielinski ordered that Zanders be held in the Muscogee County Jail under bonds totaling $6,000. The case was bound over to State Court.
Columbus authorities believe the man exposed himself while in the gas station between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
This isn't the first time the suspect has faced a indecent exposure accusation.
During a May 18 Recorder's Court hearing, Zanders pleaded not guilty to another public indecency charge following woman's claim that Zanders flashed her as she was walking home from a Benning Drive church on May 17.
