Officials are searching for the two individuals who were staying in a LaGrange Super 8 motel room that caught fire Thursday at about 7 p.m., according to a release.
LaGrange police said the cause of the fire is undetermined, but detectives would like to question Patrick Anderson, an out-of-town worker, and Amber Cummings of Nicholis about the incident. An ongoing investigation revealed that the "origin of the fire was suspicious in nature," according to the release.
LaGrange firefighters said they were called to the Super 8 motel at 29 Patillo Road in reference to the fire. The incident caused minimal damage to a motel room, but no one was harmed, police said in the release.
Officials said Anderson and Cumming were guests in the hotel room, but they were not on the scene when firefighters arrived. The fire department called police to the scene, but officers were not able to find Cummings or Anderson, police said.
Anyone with information regarding the occupants' whereabouts or the fire itself is encouraged to contact the LaGrange Police Department.
