Authorities in Lee County seized almost a half ounce of crack cocaine, some marijuana and $2,000 in cash during a search Thursday and charged two Phenix City residents.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Wayne Reeves, 51, and Tiffany Lashawn Barnes, 28, were taken into custody without incident during the 6:30 a.m. search. Reeves faces one count of distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second-degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. Barnes was charged with possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of prescription medication.
Barnes is held on $4,000 bond at the Lee County Detention Facility and Reeves’ bond was set at $12,500.
With help from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Countywide Tactical SWAT Team, Lee County sheriff’s investigators executed a search of the home in the 10600 block of Lee Road 240.
Investigators found 13 grams of crack cocaine, marijuana, scales and the cash. Authorities said the cocaine had a street value of more than $5,000.
