Suspect arrested after a stabbing at Ralston Tower in downtown Columbus, police say
The suspect in a stabbing downtown Saturday has been apprehended, according to the Columbus Police Department.
Police said they responded around 8:40 p.m. Saturday to a stabbing in the 200 block of 12th Street at Ralston Tower, where they found a man suffering from “a stab/puncture wound.”
The victim was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional with life threatening injuries and later flown to an Atlanta area hospital for further treatment, police said in a news release.
Police said a warrant for aggravated assault has been issued for Jerry Allen, 57, who was identified as a suspect in the case. Allen was taken into custody Tuesday, according to police.
Allen is expected to appear in court Friday, police said.
