Man arrested and charged with capital murder in Phenix City shooting death on AL highway

A man has been arrested and charged with capital murder in a weekend shooting in Phenix City, the Phenix City Police Department announced Sunday.

Police said they responded at 2:47 a.m. Saturday to the 400 block of Alabama Highway 165 in reference to a shooting.

Responding officers found Hernadis Harmon suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said Harmon was 25-years-old.

Police said Harmon was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation determined Marquavious Jayquan London, 22, was responsible for shooting Harmon, according to police.

Police said London was arrested Sunday and charged with capital murder.
