Man was shot in the chest by his twin brother, Columbus cops say. They both face charges

A man has been arrested after being shot by his twin brother last month in Columbus, the Columbus Police Department announced Thursday.

The shooting happened March 24, when officers near the city’s Public Safety Building heard a gunshot and calls for help, police said. The officers responded to 10th Street near Veterans Parkway and found Royce Foster with a gunshot wound to his chest, according to police.

Royce Foster’s twin brother, Roy Foster, was charged with shooting him, police said.

But Royce Foster faces charges too after he was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where narcotics were found in his possession during treatment.

Royce was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine, according to police.

Roy Foster was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to CPD Public Information Officer Brittany Santiago.

Royce Foster was scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court at 8 a.m. Friday, according to Santiago.
