Columbus police officer arrested after burglary investigation, department says

A Columbus Police Department officer has been arrested after a burglary investigation, the department announced Tuesday.

Police said officers were dispatched Sunday to a residence on Chattsworth Road following a reported burglary.

The initial investigation revealed a member of CPD may have been involved, according to the news release. CPD’s Bureau of Investigative Services follow-up investigation confirmed the involvement of Officer Jonathan Robertson, 23, the news release says.

Police said Robertson has been charged with burglary (family violence), stalking (family violence) and terroristic threats.

Robertson has been placed on administrative leave without pay, according to police. He is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the news release.

Police said the case remains under investigation.
