Man acquitted of 2015 public indecency charge at Suntrust Bank
A 46-year-old woman saw the unexpected Tuesday morning when she witnessed a man touching himself at the Suntrust Bank on Auburn Avenue, Columbus Police said.
Garry Hightower Jr., 30, was identified as the offender and arrested in his Avery Street home at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.
He was scheduled to face one count public indecency in Recorder’s Court, but he posted his $250 bond prior to the preliminary hearing.
Columbus Police said they were called to the Suntrust Bank at 2050 Auburn Ave. around 12:25 p.m. in reference to an individual who exposed himself in the parking lot.
A woman on the scene told authorities that Hightower exposed and touched himself at the sight of her. She said he was sitting in a Nissan Pathfinder at the time, according to a report.
The victim gave police a detailed description of Hightower and provided his address.
On April 1, 2016, an order from State Court Judge Ben Richardson ruled that Hightower was acquitted of the offense.
