A man shot a woman and a child in a Columbus Chick-fil-A drive-thru Saturday afternoon, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Adrian Wisdom was receiving food in the drive-thru lane at the Chick-fil-A on Manchester Expressway with a woman and his 1-year-old son when a handheld gun went off inside the car, CPD public information officer Brittany Santiago told the Ledger-Enquirer.

The woman and the child were injured in the arm and chest, respectively, and driven to the hospital in the same car, where officials reported them to be in stable condition, Santiago said. Witnesses told police they heard only a single gunshot, she said.

Wisdom was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, second-degree child cruelty and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Santiago said. He is scheduled to appear in court July 14 at 1:30 p.m.
