Pregnant teen shot on Juniper Avenue in Columbus dies in Atlanta hospital
A pregnant teenager who was shot Sunday in Columbus has died along with her child, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Police got a report at 1:12 a.m. about a shooting in the 2600 block of Juniper Avenue. Two young women, ages 17 and 18, were injured.
The 18-year-old was treated at a hospital for gunshot wounds and released, according to police.
Bryan identified the victim as 17-year-old Keianna McFadden. She was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m. at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, according to Bryan.
McFadden’s baby also died, Bryan said. He said McFadden’s body will be sent to the GBI for an autopsy.
Police said McFadden’s death is being investigated as a murder and feticide. A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting happened during a gathering at a residence on Juniper Avenue, according to police.
