Woman arrested for alleged sexual relations with inmate at Muscogee County Jail
An employee of the Muscogee County Jail’s contracted medical provider has been arrested after allegedly having sexual relations with an inmate, according to a post from the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
The sheriff’s office said they received information of the misconduct allegations Saturday.
Evidence was discovered after further investigation that Jasmine Threatts had sexual relations with an inmate while on duty at the jail, according to the post.
Threatts was arrested and charged with felony improper sexual contact by employee or agent, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office said the case remains under investigation.
According to law.justia.com the statute the sheriff’s office cited for Threatts’ arrest states: “(b) An employee or agent commits the offense of improper sexual contact by employee or agent in the first degree when such employee or agent knowingly engages in sexually explicit conduct with another person whom such employee or agent knows or reasonably should have known is contemporaneously: (3) Being detained by or is in the custody of any law enforcement agency of which he or she is an employee or agent.”
