Columbus photographer pleads guilty to child sex crime charge, prosecutor says
A Columbus photographer has pleaded guilty to a single charge of sexual exploitation of children after being arrested in April, Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Don Kelly confirmed to the Ledger-Enquirer Tuesday.
Kelly said photographer Ritchie White took a plea deal, being convicted on one count of sexual exploitation of children. White originally faced 10 counts of sexual exploitation of children when he was arrested in mid-April, the Ledger-Enquirer reported.
Court documents show a plea agreement was reached in early September, and White had his sentencing hearing Friday.
White was arrested after two search warrants were executed in Muscogee County as part of a partnership between the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office’s Collaborative Intelligence Group and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to a post at the time from Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman.
Kelly said White was sentenced to 12 years, with four years to serve in confinement followed by parole. White will also have to register as a sex offender, according to Kelly.
The case was prosecuted by Bryanne Farr, according to Kelly.
