Columbus police arrest man accused of stealing $79,609.80 from little league

A man has been arrested in connection with a theft investigation involving Pioneer Little League, the Columbus Police Department announced Monday.

Craig Norris, 35, was arrested Monday and charged with theft by taking (felony) and financial transaction card fraud, according to police.

CPD’s Property Crimes Unit received a report in March alleging the league’s treasurer had been using the organization’s bank card for personal purchases, according to the news release.

“Detectives obtained financial records and identified a pattern of unauthorized transactions across multiple businesses,” the news release says.

Police said an investigation revealed 1,039 fraudulent charges were made for a total of $79,609.80.

Norris is expected to appear in Columbus Recorder’s Court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
