25-year-old man shot dead in Columbus. Muscogee coroner releases victim’s name
A 25-year-old man died Thursday night in a shooting in Columbus.
In a text message to the Ledger-Enquirer, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the victim as Amari Wilson. Bryan said Wilson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene on McCartha Drive at 7:15 p.m.
The Columbus Police Department announced Friday morning on its X account the CPD Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 911,” the post says.
