Man arrested after investigation into Columbus massage business, police say
A man has been arrested after an investigation into a Columbus massage business that started when a person reported inappropriate contact during a massage, according to a news release Monday from the Columbus Police Department.
CPD announced the arrest of Clarence Brown after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct at Nu You Experience, 3800 block of E. Britt David Road.
Police said a second person came forward with a similar allegation.
“During the investigation, detectives learned Brown had left the country,” the news release says.
Brown was detained by U.S. Customs and airport authorities June 15 upon re-entering the United States in Miami, Florida, police said.
CPD’s Fugitive Unit took Brown into custody and extradited him to Columbus, according to the news release.
Brown is charged with the following:
- Two counts of sexual battery
- One count of aggravated sexual battery
- Two counts of masturbation for hire
- One count unlawful acts (massage therapy practice act)
- One count of acting without a license
- One count of giving massages in a place used for lewdness, prostitution, assignation or masturbation for hire
- One count of obscene material
- One count of utilization of federal work authorization program.
Brown was scheduled to appear in Columbus Recorder’s Court for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
