11-year-old dies at hospital after overnight shooting in Columbus, officials say

A shooting Wednesday night in Columbus left an 11-year-old dead, according to officials.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that happened in the 800 block of Apex Road, according to a post on CPD’s X account.

Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the victim as Kadin Harris.

Bryan said Harris died at 10:49 p.m. Wednesday at a local hospital after suffering a gunshot wound.
