1 person dead in shooting on Curtis Street in Columbus; police investigating

One person is dead following a shooting Monday night in the 1100 block of Curtis Street in Columbus, according to officials.

The incident took place around 11:49 p.m., Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said.

Davon Wallace, 34, died of multiple gunshot wounds, Bryan said. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation, according to a post on the department’s X account.
