Trio armed with handguns steal cash, phone and jewelry
A 24-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint late Friday on Woodruff Road, Columbus police said.
The victim sustained a cut to his right index finger in the 9:50 p.m. robbery at Wessex Avenue. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police said two men and a woman pointed a 9 mm pistol and another handgun of unknown caliber at the victim before taking $90 in cash, a $100 silver necklace with a Lord's Prayer pendant and a cellphone.
One suspect was described as a white man in his 20s, 6 feet tall and weighing 165 pounds. He was wearing a tank top. The second was described as black, in his 20s, 5 feet, 10 inches and weighing 250 pounds. He had black hair with dreads and carried an unknown pistol.
The third robber was described as a white woman, 5 feet, 4 inches and weighing 250 pounds. She had brown hair, brown eyes and was armed with a 9 mm pistol.
The robbery remains under investigation.
