Police launch investigation after child receives burns on both hands

Columbus Police launched a child cruelty investigation Tuesday afternoon into an incident that left a 3-year-old girl with second- and third-degree burns on both hands.

The child was admitted to Columbus Midtown Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition, according to a police report.

Authorities said they were called to the hospital around 3:52 p.m. Tuesday in reference to an incident that led to the injuries.

Authorities provided limited details about the unspecified incident, only stating that it happened 3 p.m. Tuesday in an apartment in the 2000 block of Cusseta Road.

No arrests have been made in this case.
