Kelley Hill at Fort Benning was locked down today after an unarmed man communicated a threat before he was taken into custody, a post spokesman said.
No one was injured during the incident and no weapon was involved, said Bob Purtiman, chief of public affairs for the Maneuver Center of Excellence.
The civilian was still in custody at 4:30 p.m. but Purtiman wasn’t aware of any charge.
After the threat was communicated, military police went to the area and took the man into custody.
It wasn’t known how long the man will be detained.
No other details of the incident were available.
More information will be released when it becomes available.
