Teenage boy robbed at Columbus park

A 17-year-old boy was targeted in Sunday morning's armed robbery at Shirley B. Winston Park, according to Columbus Police.

The victim wasn't injured during the incident, which was reported to have happened at the 5025 Steam Mill Road park between 9:47 and 10:23 a.m.

Authorities said they were called to a RC Allen Drive residence around 10:48 a.m. Sunday to speak with the victim, who said he was in the parking lot when he was robbed of his black and white Jordan brand shoes valued at $180.

Police didn't provide any suspect descriptions or clarify how many robbers were involved. Officials said they will continue to investigate the case.
