A 50-year-old man was stabbed in the neck late Sunday in his home in the 6500 block of Wren Street, Columbus Police said.

Authorities said they were called to Midtown Medical Center after the victim went to the hospital with a half-inch gash on the left side of his neck, just below his ear. His current condition is unknown.

A preliminary investigation led police to believe that 51-year-old Aaron Charles Jones of Columbus stabbed the victim in the living room with an unknown object.

Jones was arrested and charged later that day with aggravated assault. He was transported to the Muscogee County Jail to await a Recorder's Court hearing set for 8 a.m. Tuesday.
