An unidentified gunman is on the loose after carjacking a man early Wednesday in the 1800 block of 11th Avenue, according to Columbus Police.

The 25-year-old man told police he was in his driveway around 7:15 a.m. when a stranger pointed a pistol at him, took his white 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and fled the scene. The victim was left unharmed, according to a police report.

Authorities said they were called to the scene minutes later to investigate the incident.

The victim described the thief as a black man between 30 and 40 years old who was dressed in a gray toboggan, khaki jacket, and dark jeans, authorities said.

Officials are still trying to locate the offender and the $10,000 SUV, which has a small black and white square sticker on the rear window and a 2016 Georgia tag that reads, "PLG9569."
