Opelika man charged with attempted murder after shooting that wounded two

A 24-year-old man was arrested today in connection with the Thursday night shooting on North Antioch Circle that left two wounded, Opelika Police said in a press release.

Dontavis Jamail Bulger of Opelika was wanted on warrants for two counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle when he turned himself into authorities today at 10 a.m., according to police. He was booked into the Lee County Detention Center.

Police said both victim, ages 30 and 32, sustained shrapnel wounds. The older victim was treated at East Alabama Medical Center and released, and the younger is also expected to make a full recovery, according to the release.

The motive behind the incident has yet to be released.
