Masked gunman turned away during robbery attempt at Little Caesars

An armed man with a bandana over his face didn’t get a chance to rob the Little Caesars late Friday on South Lumpkin Road.

Columbus police were called after a restaurant employee spotted the man pulling on the locked door of the business at 1627 S. Lumpkin Road. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

No one was injured in the 11:06 p.m. attempt at the business.

An employee told police a man wearing dark clothing, a bandana on his face and a skull cap tried to enter the left side door at the business. He was holding a gun in his left hand.

The business had closed for the evening, preventing the gunman from entering the business. The would-be robber was last seen running south on South Lumpkin Road toward the Family Dollar.
