UPDATE: Columbus couple wanted in Albany murder turn themselves in

Update: Officials said Eugene Marcus Grant III and Ebony Millsaps turned themselves in to authorities in Lee County, Ga. around 3 p.m. today. They were transported to Albany, where they are currently being questioned by detectives.

Public information officer Phyllis Whitley-Banks said Grant will be housed in the Lee County Jail for safety reason. No charges have been filed against Millsaps at this time, Banks stated in an email sent to the Ledger-Enquirer at 4:26 p.m. today.

Original Story: Authorities said they are hunting for a Columbus man wanted on murder and aggravated assault warrants stemming from a fatal shooting Sunday at the Apple Jax Bar & Lounge in Albany, Ga.

Tony Carter, 40, was in the parking lot outside of the bar when someone fatally shot him once in the upper portion of his body at 1:34 a.m. Sunday, Albany police said.

Officials said Eugene Marcus Grant III, 33, was last seen fleeing the scene at 1303 East Broad Ave. with his girlfriend Ebony Millsaps, who also is wanted for questioning concerning Carter’s death. Grant was driving what appeared to be a silver 2010 Chrysler 300, according to police.

Officers noted that Grant is 6-foot-4 and weighs 216 pounds but didn’t provide a description of his 34-year-old girlfriend. Both individuals were living in Columbus, but authorities said they have received information about them residing with a woman on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Grant should be considered armed and dangerous, officials warned the public.
