Columbus man charged with second-degree cruelty to children
A 58-year-old man has been accused of "refusing" to seek medical attention for his daughter after she ingested a "large amount of prescription pills," according to Columbus police.
David Hughes of Columbus was arrested 12 a.m. Wednesday in connection with the incident and charged with second-degree cruelty to children. He was transported to the Muscogee County Jail to await his preliminary hearing set for 2 p.m. today in Columbus Recorder’s Court.
Police have not released any further details about the incident or stated the current condition of his daughter.
