Phenix City man charged with rape

The Phenix City Police Department has arrested a man on a rape charge in connection with a sexual assault.

Darrell Fields Jr., 23, of Phenix City was taken into custody on Monday and charged with one count each of rape first degree and sodomy first degree. Fields is held in the Russell County Jail, according to the department’s Facebook page.

He is accused of assaulting an 18-year-old woman.
