Gunman attempts to rob man in downtown Columbus early this morning
Columbus police said they have yet to identify or locate the gunman who attempted to rob a man early this morning in downtown Columbus.
The victim was held at gunpoint but able to escape the 5 a.m. incident without injury, according to a police report.
An officer said he was called to the intersection of Broadway and 14th Street to investigate the attempted armed robbery.
The victim told police that he was walking along 14th Street when a unidentified man wearing all black put a gun to his head and asked for his money. The man said he ran toward Broadway to get away from the suspect, who then fled across the 13th Street Bridge.
Nothing was stolen, authorities confirmed.
