Woman charged in stabbing that left man with collapsed lung

A woman was apprehended Thursday in connection with the March 10 stabbing in Columbus that left a 22-year-old man with a collapsed lung, according to Muscogee County Jail records.

Princess Carrion, the 33-year-old alleged assailant, was arrested at 12 p.m. Thursday at the Public Safety Center and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. She was booked into the jail under bonds totaling $10,000.

Carrion was accused of stabbing a man in the chest March 10 during argument at the intersection of Samson Avenue and King Street, authorities said in a case report.

"(The victim) stated Ms. Carrion became extremely angry and began throwing his property out in the yard," police wrote. "(The victim) stated that during the argument, Ms. Carrion pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed in the chest and somehow ripped his shirt off of him."

Authorities said they responded to the St. Francis Hospital around 6:31 p.m. that day after the victim arrived there with a one-inch one-inch puncture wound on the left side of his chest and a collapsed left lung. His current condition wasn’t immediately made available.

Warrants were issued for Carrion’s arrest after a witness confirmed that the two were seen arguing earlier that day.

Carrion is scheduled to appear in Columbus Recorder’s Court at 8 a.m. Saturday.
