Man dead after reported shooting, Phenix City police say

A man was pronounced dead at the scene of a reported shooting, according to Phenix City police.

Police said in a release they responded to the scene at 1105 15th Place on Saturday.

The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Russell County Coroner’s office, was identified as Tracey Lee Crowell, 38, the release said. Police said the body will be sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.

Phenix City Police said their Criminal Investigation Division will investigate the incident as a homicide. Anyone with knowledge of the crime should contact them at (334) 448 - 2801.
