Danny Scott dies after house fire Sunday in Columbus
Danny Scott, 58, of Columbus was pronounced dead at 5:34 a.m. Sunday at Midtown Medical Center where he was taken after being found at the scene of a house fire.
Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Charles Newton said the likely cause of death was smoke inhalation but the body will be taken to Atlanta on Monday for an autopsy.
The burning house was at 3121 Morehouse Street. Police got the call about the fire at approximately 4:40 a.m. Dispatch said it was fully involved.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Columbus Fire and EMS.
