One arrested following apartment stabbing on Fort Benning Road

Columbus police have linked a 37-year-old woman to the stabbing that occurred Thursday evening at an apartment in the 1000 block of Fort Benning Road.

Kizzy Peterson of Columbus was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Muscogee County Jail following the 7:14 p.m. incident, which left one man wounded. His current condition is unknown at this time.

Authorities said they were called to the apartment unit where Peterson resides shortly after it was reported that someone was stabbed at the residence. No further details concerning what led to the attack were released.

Peterson is set to appear in Columbus Recorder’s Court 9 a.m. Saturday to face one count each of aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
