More than two weeks after the Wells Fargo Bank was robbed, authorities serving a search warrant on Eddy Drive arrested a suspect in the March 18 holdup on Milgen Road.

Christopher Belt, 25, of Columbus was taken into custody Tuesday and held in the Muscogee County Jail. He was taken into custody without incident by the Robbery/Assault Unit of the Columbus Police Department, the FBI and members of the Special Victims Unit.

Armed with a pistol, Belt is accused of entering the 5590 Milgen Road bank around 11:51 p.m. and demanding money from a teller. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled from the bank in a gold Ford Fusion.

His direction of travel was unknown. The robbery had remained under investigation by police and the FBI until Belt was arrested.
