LaGrange man says he was hit in head and robbed

Police in LaGrange, Ga. are investigating the report of an armed robbery Friday night.

According to a police report, the crime occurred on Ridge Street.

At approximately 7:12 p.m. police responded to a call about an armed robbery which had just occurred.

A 59-year-old LaGrange man told officers he was walking down the street when an unknown black male with a handgun approached him.

The victim said he was struck in the head and his wallet forcefully taken away.

The wallet contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man was taken to West Georgia Health Center where he was treated for minor injuries.

He described the person with the gun as being about 18-20 years of age.
