Girl reports being sexually assaulted near North Lumpkin Road
An underage girl was sexually assaulted around Feb. 12 in a residence less than a mile away from North Lumpkin Road, according to a Columbus police report made Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said an administrator at the victim’s middle school heard about the incident and notified the school security officer around 2:10 p.m. Tuesday. The officer met with the student and her family about 40 minutes later to learn more about what reportedly transpired.
The girl told the officer she dozed off in a dark bedroom and woke up to an unidentified man standing over her. She screamed and cried as her attacker grabbed her by both arms, removed some of her clothing and forcibly sodomized her before leaving the room, according to the report.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
