Knife wielding man arrested after robbery at CVS Pharmacy

A man was arrested Friday afternoon shortly after the CVS Pharmacy was robbed on Hilton Avenue, Columbus police said.

Police were called to the 3617 Hilton Ave. business at 5:40 p.m. to check on robbery. A clerk told police that a man entered the store, pulled a knife and jumped over the counter. He demanded some drugs, not money, from the business, Police Lt. Warren Dunlap said Saturday.

The man was seen leaving the pharmacy in a red or maroon truck after taking some medications from the pharmacy.

Deputies spotted the truck outside of Columbus and took the man into custody without incident.

The man was taken to Midtown Medical Center because deputies couldn’t determine how much of the medication he had ingested.
